1999 Shandong Great Wall Group Inc. invested nearly 100 million yuan to found Shandong United University and began to recruit students.

2000 It co-operated with Shandong Normal University in running schools to recruit higher vocational students and became one of the earliest higher vocational schools, which can offer three-year programs.

2001 Authorized by the government of Shandong Province (Lu Zheng Zi [2001] No. 370) and the Education Ministry of the People’s Republic of China, Shandong Shenghan Finance and Trade Vocational College is founded on the basis of SUU, made it become a full-time comprehensive college, which can enroll students statewide.
